Q:How do I get my certificate?

A: Once you complete the exam and score 80% or higher, your certificate and completion card will be mailed to you within 2 to 3 weeks.


Q. I lost my certificate, how do I get another one?

A:You must contact iDrive Boats to request a copy by sending an email to support@idriveboats.com and the copy of the certificate will be emailed to you.

Q. How long does it take to get my state license?

A:This will vary according to each state.   Unless it is stated on your receipt you will need to check with your local state for information regarding your state license

Q. How do I pay for the course?

Q. Do I need a boating license?

A: Most states require anyone under 21 years of age to have successfully completed a

Q. What if I fail the exam?

A: You will have the opportunity to retake the final exam if you fail. You will be charged a discounted rate for testing fees, however, you will be able to study the course at no charge.

Q. How long does it take to complete the exam?

A: The final exam contains 50 multiple-choice questions and 10 state specific multiple-choice questions (where applicable).  You should set aside 4-6 hours to review the course and 1 hour to complete the exam.

Q. Is there a time limit to complete the course?

A: There is no time limit to complete the course.  The length of the course will vary from state to state but can typically be completed in 4-6 hours. You may stop and start the course as many times as need but you must complete the exam once the exam has been started.

Q.How do I get my insurance discount?

A: Contact Boater's Insurance and give them your name and they will confirm with iDrive Boats that you have successfully completed the course.

Q: Is your site secure?

A: Yes. iDrive Boats is authenticated and protected through Thawte SSL Web Server Certificate. An encrypted SSL connection requires all information sent between a client and a server to be encrypted by the sending software and decrypted by the receiving software, thus providing a high degree of confidentiality. Confidentiality is important for both parties to any private transaction. In addition, all data sent over an encrypted SSL connection is protected with a mechanism for detecting tampering--that is, for automatically determining whether the data has been altered in transit.
